Just to give credit where it is due: Fuseproject did the form factor design. Engineering design was by Moto Engineering Group. Pentagram did the branding and early conceptual work on the UI. Cooper Consulting did the personas and detailed interaction design. Fort Franklin also made contributions to some design elements. All of these companies worked collaboratively with our in house designers, engineering and management teams all the way along usually with direct involvement of our CEO John Chuang in any major design decisions. Litl LLC is usually a collaborative effort internally, often with fairly permeable distinctions between disciplines, and our style of working with consultants is usually team driven rather than hands-off outsourcing. We’re also proud of our in house designers and engineers.

While it is true that we have some ex-OLPC engineers working for us and Fuseproject also designed for OLPC, I’d say our goals are quite different for the litl webbook, mainly because we aim at quite different markets and use cases and our innovations are therefore in different areas. The litl webbook is designed for the home and is unlikely to be the only laptop in that home. So our device aims to manage content in a way that makes sense in that environment.
